Marian Iglesias made her entry into journalism as a weekly bilingual contributor to Miami's leading newspapers, The Miami Herald and El Nuevo Herald. She understood the power of communication in the business world and eventually shifted her focus to marketing and advertising. Marian went on to become a brand consultant and a distinguished Hispanic market specialist. In 1990, Patrick Media — A GE subsidiary, asked her to establish and lead Patrick's National Hispanic Sales Division. Marian tripled the company's Hispanic market advertising sales the first year. In 1994 her entrepreneurial spirit inspired her to establish KIWI Brand Consultants, a holistic consulting firm specialized in branding, marketing, public relations, special events, and business development. That same year, KIWI was engaged to manage the Café Bustelo brand; successes included Bustelo's consistent #1 sales ranking in the nation, year after year, as well as the first Super Bowl sponsorship of a Hispanic consumer brand. A decade later, Marian's firm helped launch Zacapa Rum — an unknown brand that quickly gained unprecedented global prominence in the highly competitive super premium rum category — in great part due to the unique and strategic positioning KIWI developed for Zacapa. Through the years, the firm has provided its services to a variety of top national clients. Among them are: Tetley USA, The JM Smucker Company, Best Foods, and Marriott. KIWI's list of clients also includes small and midsize companies, professional service firms, and nonprofit organizations.
